What is The Wellness Collective?

The Wellness Collective is a place I can share, uncensored. There’s no algorithm to anger when I use the words “nutritious” or “healthy.” No algorithm to have to appease with 5-second video clips or trending sound. And, best of all, no algorithm to straight up refuse to share my recipes, encouragement, hacks, and tips.

It’s not just recipes, it’s teaching you how to analyze recipes, compare ingredient choices,  and recreate homemade pantry staples. 

It’s not just tips for having more real food in your home, with fresh flour & dehydrating & fermenting & all the good things, it’s nitty gritty how tos that you’re not finding anywhere else.

It’s not just movement/fitness goals, but it’s a true weekly plan and accountability among like-minded friends and a certified personal trainer.

The Wellness Collective is a community in the truest sense. Full of folks who are learning, trying, and thriving together, improving how we eat and how we live.

For over a decade, I’ve been slowly transforming our pantry and our lives.

 

🖐️ FORMER JUNK FOOD JUNKIE

But I’m a former 🍭junk food junkie🍭 who grew up with parents who knew about real food (both coming from rural agrarian farm families). Yet mom and dad got sidetracked, as many do, by the allure, convenience & “improvement” of processed food. They had so much wisdom to teach me as a kid but didn’t see the value to the old-fashioned ways they left behind.

But they never spared me the rich stories of their childhoods.

The difficulties of homesteading were never sugar-coated, yet still so appealing to me.

Those stories, the ones that make up who I am, also made me long for a simpler life before I even realized that was my dream.

 

🚜 OLD SCHOOL WITH MODERN CONVENIENCE

When Bill & I moved our family of 6 to a rural New England farm, we needed all the advice on chickens & cows and food preservation. I was elated to realize that real food is possible with a modern twist that made it not as desperate and hard as my grandparent’s generation, but I couldn’t find community to help me find my way after my parents both suddenly passed away.

With The Wellness Collective my goal is to create exactly what I needed all along.

The Grain Reboot (Lives, some with guests)

Whether you or someone you love is gluten-sensitive or you’d just like to know more about milling your own wholesome, nutrient-dense flour, this personal expose and monthly lessons that follow will be encouraging and enlightening for you.

Behind the Label (Workshops with Michelle)

In these live workshops, we’ll do a breakdown of specific Ingredients, learn what to look for when sourcing ingredients, and more. (ideas: cornstarch, baking powder and baking soda, all the sugars)

Recipe Reboot (Workshops with Michelle)

Join Michelle behind the scenes of healthy swaps. These workshops will, over time, include learning dehydrating, milling fresh flour, kombucha, even sugarmaking.

Some months we’ll take a rough recipe (sometimes for favorite knock offs or pantry staples) and help you work through how to be more self-sufficient and go from a decent recipe to a more nutritious recipe.

The Fit Collective (Lives, with our personal trainer)

Join Cai Hepner, personal trainer and sports nutrition coach & Michelle in The Fit Collective for a weekly exercise program (for home OR the gym). We’ll have live sessions with Cai, monthly printables, and even share ways we can keep each other accountable.

Collective Chats (Group Chats)

Soul Fuel (Live devotionals with Michelle)

Here in this uncensored place I will be sharing my faith, from my heart and from the Word, in ways that social media has never let me before. Because I am well aware that my soul needs fuel as much as my body.
