Tomato sauce without canning

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dehydrated tomato powder
  • 1 tsp dehydrated pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients well.
  • Spoon into a container with an air-tight seal and keep for up to 1-2 years.
  • To make sauce, use 1 part tomato mix with 2-4 parts water (less for paste, more for sauce).

Notes

  • I will use 4-5 TB of the powder, mixed with about 1 cup of hot water, to make enough sauce for one pizza.
  • I'll use roughly 3 TB of the powder, mixed with 1/2-3/4 cup of hot water, for one plate of pasta.
  • 12 TB of the powder, mixed with about 3 cups of hot water, makes the amount of sauce in a jar you purchase at the store.
