Homemade Instant Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1/8-1/4 cup maple sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup add ins see below*

Instructions

  • Toast 2 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats at 350, for 15 minutes.
  • After oats have cooled, pulse half of them in your food processor briefly, to coarsely chop them.
  • Place all oats together in a bowl and stir in the rest of the ingredients.
  • Store in a mason jar.
  • To prepare, scoop a few tablespoons into a bowl and add enough hot water to make your oatmeal the consistency you like.

Notes

*Add-in ideas:
  • walnuts (you can chop these with the oats),
  • sunflower seeds,
  • pumpkin seeds (I use these),
  • dehydrated strawberry powder (find directions to make dehydrated strawberry powder here),
  • chopped up dried fruits, such as peaches, strawberries, or blueberries (read more about adding dried fruit in notes, below)
