The first time I had lilac in more than those old fashioned hard candies was at Nature’s Creamery in Niles, CA (filming location for 5 of Charlie Chaplin’s earliest movies). I LOVED it! If anyone reading this is ever in the SF East Bay, go to this ice cream shop because you’ll be able to try some of the most amazing ice cream flavors (common and rare)! I have since also had lilac in a pastry (a flakey, lightly sweetened croissant-like pastry). Both delicious!

In reply to Vanessa. It has to be refrigerated once opened (or if you don't can it) but it will keep for months in the fridge.

I planted a little lilac a few years ago and it’s still little. I hope someday to be able to try your syrup. I’d love to try it in iced tea or lemonade. That sounds so wonderful!
