Thanks for the information! I would love to own one, but wonder where I would store it. I think it would be exciting to try to freeze dry so many different foods. Having four kiddos makes it expensive to keep up on healthy snacks.

In reply to Carrie. Depending on the food, the texture may be a little different (but not at all drastically different like I find with dehydrated foods), but the taste is always amazing. When the food is freeze dried (not rehydrated) the flavors are intensified and so good. Broth is one of my all-time favorite ways to use my freeze dryer!

Bill says it’s SUPER easy but honestly he is a mechanic and I have never helped or even watched. 🙁 It’s his domain. 🙂 And I have had a few come unsealed. I think there are SO many variables I’d never figure out why, so I do use a rim on top to keep the lid snug even if the vacuum does come undone and I try to keep an eye out for any that aren’t sealed so I use those first.
