Yes! We need to find folks who we can be brittle together with don't we? Thank you for sharing your story with me; and thank you for reminding me that it IS okay that I miss them dearly. I often (I know it's silly) feel guilt that I miss them and wish they were still here, because that's so selfish of me. They are so amazingly wonderful where they are now. But yes, I miss them. Maybe a little more today; Mom left me exactly 3 years and 11 hours ago today. Thanks, Karen.

In November 2017 we buried my husband's father. Seven months later in June 2018 we buried his mother. It is hard. I loved them and was able to be caregiver to them at the end. It was hard, but I would not trade those days for anything. I miss them as they were wonderful parents to me and my family. My husband misses them. He had the task of taking care of all their legal stuff. It was hard. In 1984 I lost my own mother to cancer. She was 58. I have outlived her now by 10 years. It is still hard. My father passed 11 years later. I know where they are, and I know I will one day see them again. It's still hard. I am so thankful for the memories I have of days gone by. They are mine to keep. What comfort that gives me. I love your words, and I share your sadness. We can be brittle together, and thank God for His amazing grace. Hugs to you, sister.
