I honestly would like to have 2 trees every year… one small thin artificial and a simple live tree too, but alas my family is all 100% team “the tree must be real” 🙂 But yes, they are definitely too expensive. Happy Holidays to you too!

I do things simple here, too.
I love the way you put swags of branches with pine cones around different areas.
That is a true Charlie Brown Christmas Tree, but it was free and it works.
I grew up with real trees each year and I had a real tree the first 3 years I was married, then a friend gave me her 6′ artificial tree and I used it for 10 years and then my stepmom bought me a used 7′ tree that was 5′ wide. HUGE. I used it for probably 15 years and then we went back to a real tree. I got tired of the high prices and dropped needles, so I bought another artificial 6′ tree about 6 years ago.
Jesus is the reason for the Season” is not just a cliche’ but what Christmas is all about (and you said this, too) and so I want that to be the focus and not all the worries about decorations or being perfect.

I really love the simple ways to decorate. I don’t have a farmhouse but I have a home that doesn’t change much. Three years ago I started drying orange slices and making cinnamon ornaments to make a garland that drapes from window to window. My family really seems to enjoy that.
