Digging in the dirt with someone special is the basis of many fond memories for countless people, I am sure. So glad to hear my musings “dug” up some lovely memories for you. (btw, I have a few dogs who would do exactly what Dersu did, if our potatoes weren’t in a huge pot, 4 feet off the ground.)

My big gardening experience was planting potatoes right off the porch of our Cecil Country farmhouse.

Unfortunately, our Pug Dersu Uzala chose the plants as his favorite peeing spot.
