Sidenote: I just discovered this vacuum sealer for mason jars that I’m kinda obsessed with.
I love real food, y’all. Join me in the cooking demonstration I just offered at the Northeastern Xhibition Kitchen if you want to see just how fun real food can be.
Of course I don’t usually get to cook in such a fancy kitchen, but back home in my old farmhouse, the right tools are still important. These are those items for me.
And, btw, this post contains affiliate links. See my full disclosure here .
This is my favorite way to bake bread. I’m partial to the navy, but you can get a flashy red one too.
I love this replacement for chemical-laden aerosol cans of cooking spray. Just fill it with olive or (my favorite) avocado oil.
I never marinate meat without using this. It does an hour-long job in minutes!
This grain mill makes fresh, wholesome flour on demand, but also looks gorgeous sitting on any kitchen
counter. Use code SOULYRESTED to save $$.
This professional-grade mixer is a must-have in my kitchen. Nothing stops it, not even all the maple sugar and maple cream we make around here.
This mixer does a MUCH better job on a double loaf of bread dough than my kitchenaid, so it’s worth storing under my cabinet just for that. Use code SOULYRESTED to save $$.
This air fryer is a game changer (and it makes the BEST fries).
I have had this instant hot water heater on my counter for close to a decade. It’s amazing, for instant cups of tea to adding hot water to recipes with zero effort. And the temperature is adjustable.
This is the best investment I’ve ever made with my kombucha. It makes continuous brewing almost effortless. (I just place a piece of fabric under the lid and remove the air lock piece.) Use code KOMBUCHA10 for $10 off.
I use these stainless steel lids with amazing seals to store almost everything in my pantry in wide mouth jars.
These lids are a game changer, organizing bulk rice, flour, popcorn, dried fruit, and more in my root cellar.
I have more than a dozen of these lids, for storing herbs, seasonings, sugars, and loose leaf teas.
This dehydrator is superior to Excalibur in every category. I love mine.
This fermenting kit takes vegetables to the next level.
This sprout “garden” means I can grow my own food–on my kitchen counter–all year long!
I can’t imagine making homemade peanut butter or real butter–not to mention so many other things–without this vacuum-sealed blender.
Delicious, all-natural ice cream has never been so easy! See my maple ice cream recipe below.
Hand-crafted made-in-the-USA pottery bowls are a staple in the kitchen.
This little juicer makes fresh lemon juice effortlessly, as well as so many fruit juices.
My book is loaded with maple-infused recipes and chapter’s of reasons to use maple instead of refined sugar. Ask for it whereever books are sold or grab it here.
Nothing helps me keep the kitchen clean–effortlessly–better than this. In fact, love my robot vac for the whole house.
Cast Iron:
I use cast iron for almost everything in the kitchen and these are the best price for the best quality I’ve found anywhere.
I love this cast iron pizza pan for making my family’s favorite giant cookie (see below).
I love my dutch oven (size 10) for baking artisan bread and cooking soup.
While lard is my first choice of oil for cooking in my cast iron, I often reach for avacado oil too.
Lard contains 11% unsaturated fatty acids, which are the most heat-sensitive fats (and prone to oxidation) so I not only cook with lard but use it to season my pans as well
A chainmail scrubber protects your pan’s seasoning while cleaning it
We use these mini pans for baking and serving warm cookies (with maple ice cream on top, of course)–see recipes below.
Grab a set of six (so everyone can enjoy dessert together) and save $$$ here
I love my cast iron griddle for cooking bacon in the oven or baking a rectangular pizza.
Honorable Mentions:

I love these flip lids for my mason jars . I have more than a dozen of them, for storing herbs, seasonings, sugars, and loose leaf teas. I always buy more in the 4-pack option, which is like getting 4 for the cost of less than 3.
I use these special kitchen sheers whenever adding fresh or dried herbs to a dish. They are game changers if you use a lot of fresh herbs.
